#Adopting Ask for A Fire Ring and Krait

It had been a few weeks since Coriander the corny, Cayenne the King, Clove the Fire ring and Cardamom the Krait had come home with Atlas and the rest of her bitties both Felids and Lamia’s and now they were back for the final members of the team. Both Cayenne the king and Cinnamon the Coral were on the choosing team today, the spicy boys keen on picking the new members with Clove the Fire-ring there to ensure fair consideration for the new lamias. Atlas smiled “Hey vex new year, new friends! The guys and I talked it over and we decided unanimously to get the next three lamia’s a little early so they could spend New Year’s with a forever home! Mind if we browse?” They asked kindly realizing that the holidays were probably just as stressful for shelters as they were for retail shops.
*The time has finally arrived. You are finally going to complete your lamia bittybones adoption spree! The only lamia bitty types that aren't crossed off on your list are Chain, Mamba, and Pygmy. A Pygmy won't be hard to choose since they're all so energetic and cute, but Mambas and Chains can be extremely picky about owners, so you're nervous. Thankfully you've got your King, Coral, and FireRing to help you.
*Taking a deep breath, you step into the shop, relieved to feel a guiding tug on your SOUL. You know this means that a Chain with a compatible SOUL is nearby, so you decide to see where the feeling takes you. Interestingly enough, it takes you to a small, cleared area with a spotlight shining on it. You look around, curious, and see a Chain with a softly glowing SOUL and kind eyelights manning (snaking?) the spotlight. You soon find out why.
*As soon as you and your current lamias are close enough, the "show begins. Apparently some lamias have spent a bit too much time watching anime shows on TV. In the grand tradition of the Ginyu Force or Team Rocket, a pair of iridescent lamias, one Mamba and one Pygmy, make an appearance with creative introductions and a well-choreographed dance. You were not prepared for trouble, but you certainly think it's cute that they've made it double. The Chain even dons a pair of cat ears to assure you that "Meowth, that'ssss right."
*Your King nods at the display. He can appreciate showmanship. Meanwhile, your grumpy little Coral's eyes have lit up at the sight of the glimmering scales on the newcomers. It seems the iridescence has mesmerized him. The Chain slithers over, and you allow the SOULbond to settle as he presents the two smaller lamias with appropriate jazz hands. These three lamias will fit just right in your now-complete family. Hopefully, your Coral can resist the urge to swipe other lamias' scales...

Crysta’s Lamia Experience: Two comedian lamias fall in love
A visit to @vex-bittys‘ s Lamia and Felid Bitty Center has an unexpected event. Prev AO3 (Later)
"Hey Vex, I brought some visitors!" I wave towards the shopkeeper. Abbott (Corny) and Costello (Coral) riding together on my shoulder with little baby Marx (Pygmy) peeping and beeping in excitement, poking his head out from my hair, waggling his 'eyebrows' at Vex, an expression Costello taught him. They both appeared tired, trying to keep up with their energetic hatchling day in and out, Abbott almost seeming to be asleep with his head on Costello’s shoulder, as they both took turns using blue magic to make sure Marx didn't fall off of my head.
Hero is behind me with Munchkin hanging off his back, tail twitching as he looks around the shop for his friend. "These two wanted to check in on any others that were rescued from the collector to see how they were fairing and recovering after their rescue. I..."
I stopped mid-step as I felt a tug from the collar of my shirt. As best as I could, I glance back and see both Costello and Abbott are leaning over, Costello's mouth hanging wide open while Abbott has his arm wrapped around Costello to make sure he didn't fall off while his other hand held onto my shirt collar. I follow their gaze towards the Krait pool where a FireRing and a Krait seem to be enjoying a conversation together. I glance between the two pairs with curious interest before looking at Vex as Hero gives me a knowing look.
Their weight disappeared from my shoulder as they short-cut down to the ground to watch the two from a distance with awe struck expressions. Abbott leans over to Costello and whispers something to him. Costello nods and pretends to nervously adjust an invisible tie, never keeping his eye-lights off the pair by the pool. Abbott, blushed and smiled with a nod, a bit of a longing gleam in his eye-light as he joined Costello in watching the two Lamias interact.
I ease Marx out of my hair, tickling him under his chin as I approach Vex, the little Pygmy peeping excitedly at her, and whisper, “Are you seeing the same thing I’m seeing?”
(Well, I wanted to send this as an ask, but at last, it was too long… so a post it shall be. So Yes, Costello and Abbott are quite smitten by the FireRing and Krait. Love at first sight. They are already used to being in a poly relationship with their past Pygmy lover. Vex, please take your time replying, I don’t mind waiting if you need it. Been meaning to send this in for a while, figured it was time. Thank You!)

Two’s company...
There was a tiny black and white tail poking out from behind my desk. I crouched down to tickle it unsurprised by the giggling that came from the other end.
“Alright you've had your fun. Time to come out.” A miniature krait slowly emerged from under the desk looking up at me shyly. “Relax I'm not going to take you back. I was actually hoping for a stowaway.” I said thinking back to my time at the bitty shop earlier that day. I gently picked him up and walked over to the couch. “I like Curie for a name. Thoughts?” He chirped happily. “I'll take that as a yes.” I smiled and sat down. Something wriggled under me.
“GAH!” I jumped up and turned around. Another miniature krait wriggled out from between the cushions. “Lamarr was my second choice though.” I held out my free hand to the second bitty. He climbed on and nuzzled it affectionately. I smiled. Truthfully I wouldn't mind one more surprise bitty, and I got my wish later that night.
I moved the laundry basket I'd seen a tail disappear behind and smirked down at the full-sized krait. “Hello, Lovelace.” His eye's lit up with joy at the name. I offered him an arm which he wound up and settled over my shoulders. “I take it you approve of the name. He purred and nuzzled my cheek.
I went to bed with my three new bitties that night and woke up with four in the morning. I named the newest addition Burnell before taking a box out of my closet. “OK. Things are getting confusing with four of you so I want each of you to choose a ribbon.” They nodded in understanding and started to select their favourites. Curie chose a turquoise one, Lamarr a green one, Lovelace selected the one decorated with red hearts and a lace trimming, Burnell took the orange one, and my last bitty claimed the pink ribbon... Wait a minute. I eyed the latest miniature krait to show up as he held up the ribbon for me with a sweet smile. I took it and tied it around his neck. “Our family has gotten quite big hasn't it Anning?” He nodded in agreement.
I spent the rest of the morning making breakfast and spending time with each of my kraits. Around noon I filled the tub with warm water for their daily bath. “I'm gonna get you!” I sang playfully rolling up sleeves as they got in. I chased the bitties through the water with my hands. They dodged and weaved around my wrists gracefully until I finally caught Lovelace, I think and scooped him out of the water. “Uh oh.” I lowered my voice as if he was in trouble. “Looks like you've been caught.” His excited face slowly turned anxious. I leaned forward. “I guess I'll just have to. MWAH!” I make a loud show of kissing him. This surprised Lovelace and the other kraits, but I wasn't done. I attack him with several more kisses and finish with a loud raspberry on his tummy. The bitty in my hands has dissolved into giggles and barely composed himself by the time I gently place him back in the water. The kraits were noticeably slower after this incident and I made sure to make a show of each time I caught and showered them in affection.
After their bath I helped dry each of them and retied their bows before cleaning myself up. It was oddly quiet when I next emerged from the bathroom with no kraits to be seen. “Boy's?” I called looking around. I quietly crept through the house wondering where they were until I spotted a lamia with a pink ribbon coming toward me. “Anning, there you are” I brought him up to my chest and stroked his cheek. He purred and nuzzled my finger. “You know.” I began to walk again. “I'm actually pretty glad that there are so many of you here. It’s nice to have some noise in this empty house.” A faint chirping and hissing came from my left. I turned to find the light on in my kitchen. Anning started to squirm and try to direct my attention elsewhere. I heard the water running and pieced together what was going on. “Hiding another one hmmm?” I raised a brow at the frantic bitty. I chuckled and gave the side of his head a stroke. “Relax Anning. There are already five of you here. One more won't be an issue.” I turned into the kitchen to see my four known bitties helping bring towels for the last...
Five kraits, in my sink, and several large pots filled with water. They all stopped to look at me. “Just how many of you are there!?” I exclaimed. Another miniature krait surfaced from a pot. I shook my head. “No. No way. I can't keep all of you! There's not enough room!” Eleven pairs of watery eyes stared up at me... “That's not fair and all of you know it,” I muttered pointing at each of them. I sighed heavily sitting down at my table and putting my free hand on my face. “How did so many of you even... You know what I don't think I want to know right now.” I felt Anning pat my finger with a small chirp. I paused a moment before looking back at the group. “Is this all of you?” They glanced at each other before Burnell exited the room. He came back a few minutes later with a full-sized fire ring. I wasn't even surprised anymore.
“This is EVERYONE?” I stressed. Eleven kraits and one firering nodded. “Well it's better than one hundred and one bitties,” I muttered taking out my phone. “Lovelace, go get the box of ribbons and the marker on my dresser. Everyone who doesn't have a name line up.” So Rubin, Franklin, Grace Hopper (that one earned a few chuckles), Châtelet, Marian, Antonelli, and Soyer the firering received their names and ribbons. While I received the headache that came with renovating my bathroom, and kitchen. The kraits set up a giant science lab in the basement, and Soyer had selected an unused part of my garage to pursue his artistic passions. I had toyed with the idea of building an outdoor pool but decided I already had too many irons in the fire and put it off for a later date. For now, my family of twelve and I were settling into our newly renovated home comfortably.
Then they brought home a stray krait, firering, AND their three eggs! Two of which were viable and hatched into another krait and firering. As cute as this little family was, they needed their own home once the babies were old enough, and I was firm on my stance in this with my eleven kraits. So after several weeks of putting up posters, asking friends, and advertising online. Lewis, Somer, Seacole, and Ansari were officially adopted into their permanent home. Mine... Thankfully fourteen adult bitties and one human were more than enough to handle the two mischievous babies. Anyway, the point is that life is good and it all worked out. That is... As long as eleven of my kraits remain satisfied as uncles...
These lamia bittybones were created by @vex-bittys

hi there! could i possibly adopt a fire ring bitty? i mainly only have laid-back bitties, but the more energetic ones tend to understand the need to calm down most of the time :) i have a couple of gaster types who are really excited at the prospect of a grillby type too!
*Vex and Edgar stared at the newest egg clutches with perplexed expressions. This latest clutch was supposed to be a paired clutch of Kraits and FireRings. As usual, there were a large number of Krait eggs for a typical clutch (five!), but the FireRing clutch contained only a single egg. This FireRing would be growing up with only Krait “brothers.”
*The FireRing grew up very close to his Krait “brothers,” despite being unable to join them in their swimming and splashing games (for safety reasons). He still maintained his FireRing mannerisms (reserved, enjoying crafts), but there were certain things about Kraits that he picked up from spending so much time with them... namely, the desire to stow away.
-
*You’re feeling excited and a bit nervous as you always do when adopting a new bitty. You’re looking forward to finding a FireRing to be a companion to your Gaster bitties, and you know that they are eagerly awaiting your arrival at home. You remembered to bring a bag with you to collect supplies since FireRings need organic materials to burn. You want to find out what the best materials are from the shop before you go out shopping for or gathering them. You also want to stock up on the FireRing’s preferred fancy outfits.
*You strike up a conversation with Vex at the desk, telling her about your current bitties so that the best suited FireRing can be selected. Vex tells you about some of the FireRings in the shop who would be good matches for you, including a FireRing who grew up with a lot of Gaster-types and has a special bond with them. You think he sounds perfect, and you are about to ask Vex to meet him when you see her hiding a smile and pointing down to your bag.
-
*The FireRing listens to your conversation, nodding to himself. Yes, you are just the owner he would like to have, and you’re looking for a FireRing! You even have Gaster bitties in your home for him to be friends with! Creeping forward, he slithers cautiously and quietly into your bag. It’s so easy and convenient! He starts to feel a little guilty though. Krait adopters expect Kraits to stow away, but he’s a FireRing, a lamia who thinks decorum is important.
*He worries that stowing away may appear rude, and he doesn’t want to startle you...
-
*You peek down at your bag. There is a lump in the bag that must surely be a lamia... and a small whiteboard sitting atop the bag with a message written on it: “Hello, I am a FireRing looking for a family. I hope it is alright that I am stowing away. If not, please let me know, and I will vacate the premises immediately!” You give the lump a gentle pat. A fiery hand darts out to collect the whiteboard. It appears a moment later with a smiley face and the word “thanks” written on it. You fill out the adoption papers with a smile on your face.

Hello, I wanted to ask if I could adopt a fullsized Fire Ring if possible?
*You stroll into the Lamia (and Felid) Bittybones Adoption Center with a firm purpose in mind. You are going to adopt a FireRing. You love the little fire elemental lamias and their warm personalities. You bypass the front desk, following the signs that point you to the FireRing nesting area.
*The FireRings make their nests next to the Krait play pools to be near their favorite type of bitty- Gasters! You see them heating towels and checking water temperatures. They are busy and helpful, and you begin to falter. What if they are too busy to notice you? What if they are so happy here that none of them want to leave?
*You’re still pondering these questions when you feel a tug on your pant leg. You look down to see a FireRing holding up a white board. He has written a message on it: “Hello!” followed by a smiley face. You immediately feel more at ease. You find a clear space and take a seat, patting the spot next to you. The FireRing joins you, and you begin to have an exchange. You speak, and the FireRing writes on his white board.
*It doesn’t take long for you to decide that you like this little guy. He’s smart and funny as well as affectionate. In fact, not long after you begin talking to him, he has already climbed into your lap, sharing his oh-so-perfect comforting warmth with you. You’re so comfortable that you actually begin to drowse off, but you are startled awake by Vex sliding an adoption form over to you.
*As you succumb to the need for nap once more, you happen to see that the FireRing has propped his whiteboard next to you and written “Do not disturb” on it. You drift back into slumber knowing that you’ve chosen well and that you’ll definitely be filling out the adoption form after your nap.

aromatic matchup anon, Perfect! One Aromantic Firering, please! (scenario. and of course he can join the wood whittling!)
*You think that a FireRing would be perfect for you, so you head to the Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center to find one- hopefully an aromantic one. There is a small group of FireRings near the Krait play pools, and Vex points you in their direction. You approach them, deciding to start with your specific request: “Are there any aromantic FireRings here?” you ask them, and one of them nods and slithers forward. That was easy!
*The Fire Ring has a dry erase board, and he writes a question on it: “Aro too?” You nod. You can sense that he is smiling though it is hard to distinguish his mouth if it isn’t open. You gesture for him to follow you and lead him to the meet and greet room. Sitting down, you pull some wood and a whittling knife out of your backpack. The FireRing watches you with interest.
*A few question marks appear on the dry erase board, and you explain whittling to the FireRing as you begin to pare down the wood little by little. The FireRing is fascinated as the wood takes on a shape. He even picks up a small curl of wood, showing it to you, then miming putting in his mouth. You chuckle. “Of course you can eat the wood shavings,” you tell him. “That’ll actually help with clean-up.” The FireRing’s flames crackle with joy.
*Soon the lamia is in your lap, watching you work and occasionally eating a small curl of discarded wood. He vibrates slightly as he makes a cheery crackling sound- the FireRing version of purring. You begin to hum songs to him, and you notice that his flames dance to the music. Yes, this FireRing is perfect for you. When you tell him you’d like to adopt him, he smiles so wide that you can see it clearly on his fiery features, a sure sign that he agrees.

A Mysterious New Arrival (part 3)
*The two Krait hatchlings nestled close to the newly hatched Grillbitty lamia, enjoying the warmth that he emanated. Edgar hooted softly at the cuteness before taking out his phone to do some research.
*After browsing through a few picture galleries and articles, Edgar called Waffle over to share his findings.
* "The hatchling is a Ringneck snake," Edgar explains, "specifically a San Bernadino variant." He hands his phone to Waffle, who checks the photos and nods. There is no mistaking the charcoal grey scales and fire-tone underbelly.
* "So what are we going to call him?" asks Waffle, returning the phone. "Vex isn't here, so we have to pick something. Something she would like."
*Edgar and Waffle share a moment lost in thought. Finally, Edgar makes a suggestion. "How about Ring o Fire?" Waffle can't help snorting.
* "Isn't that a Johnny Cash song?" Edgar hoots indignantly, but before he has a chance to protest, Butter pops up from his hiding place in his father's hood, points at the Grillbitty hatchling and says: "Ringo!" Soon, the other hatchlings in the nursery take up the cry.
* "Well, we can't call his type Ringo," sighs Edgar. "Maybe Fire Ring would work?" The new suggestion stuck, and Ringo the Fire Ring lamia officially joined the Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center.
----------
*Ringo flourished in the shop. He showed an aptitude for chemistry and even developed more effective antivenom for lamia venom. He never spoke though, and he preferred the company of Kraits to any other lamia. Edgar took copious notes. He did have a theory after all.
*Edgar's theory soon proved to be correct. Not long after Ringo left the nursery to set up a nest for himself near the Kraits, a pair of egg clutches appeared. Instead of the usual Sans and Papyrus type matched eggs, there were three Krait eggs... and three Fire Ring eggs to accompany them.

I will have a Fire Ring please, since he's too cute to resist and i already have nearly all of your bitties, lol. But seriously, King and Krait won't stop asking me to get one!
*The last of the first clutch of miniature FireRings is feeling a bit lonely. He hasn’t decided on an owner yet, and the rest of the FireRings aren’t quite old enough to leave the nursery yet. The only other adult FireRing in the shop is Ringo, but he spends much of his time at the play pools with the Kraits, and this little FireRing wants to be out and about in the shop looking for an owner!
*He watches people come and go. Some of them want FireRings, but most of those head straight for the nursery to watch the hatchlings. Others just don’t seem like a good fit to him. He’s not even really sure what he’s looking for. He isn’t a Chain that needs a compatible SOUL, but he still has a sense that these adopters just aren’t right for him. Good thing there are plenty of FireRings in the nursery!
*When you walk into the shop, a few things immediately catch his eye. You brought a Krait with you, and FireRings get along very well with Gaster-type bitties. You’ve also brought King with you, and that’s what catches his attention the most. King is so noble, and his hood markings are so cool. The FireRing slithers closer and hears you discussing your large bitty family with Vex.
*A large bitty family... is that what he was waiting for all this time? It must be because the more you talk about your bitties, the more excited he is to meet you. A large family means plenty of friends! He slithers forward, tugging on Vex’s pant leg and pantomiming being lifted up. She picks him up and hold him out to you. Krait and King are smiling and when you proclaim him to be perfect for your home, his flames pop and fizz with joy.
*He even starts a new tradition of FireRings marking their adoption papers with a little charred handprint- a symbol that he is happy to join your home.
